Depi is a verified property marketplace built for Kenya. Buyers browse listings with trust scores, purchase DEPI tokens, and use them to unlock seller contact details. Sellers create listings and upload ownership documents. The platform reduces fraud by verifying IDs and documents before any listing goes live.
DEPI tokens are the platform currency at a 1:1 ratio with Kenya Shillings. Buy them via M-Pesa STK push, earn them through referrals (100 tokens each) and training courses (30–75 tokens each), and withdraw them to M-Pesa once your balance reaches 500 tokens (KES 500).
The one-time KES 1,000 fee is a commitment signal it filters out fraudsters and ensures every seller or agent on the platform is serious. Buyers browse and enquire completely free. The fee is paid once via M-Pesa STK push and unlocks full access: listing creation, contact reveals, and agent dashboards.
Depi uses phone-number OTP (One-Time Password) login no password to forget or steal. After registration, a 6-digit OTP is sent to your phone via SMS. Enter it within 10 minutes to verify and log in. A fresh OTP can be requested any time from the login screen.
The Trust Score (0–100) is calculated based on: whether the seller's ID is verified, how many ownership documents were uploaded (title deed, surveyor search, property map), the seller's platform history, and community reports. A score above 70 is considered safe to proceed with viewing.
Yes. All passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Sensitive data (ID numbers, phone numbers) is never publicly exposed. Seller contacts are only revealed to users who have spent tokens to unlock them. We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and do not sell your data to third parties.
Tap the "Report" button on any listing and fill in the reason and details. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. Listings with multiple credible reports are temporarily suspended. Verified fraudulent listings result in permanent account bans.
Buyers browse and search for free. Sellers and agents pay a one-time KES 1,000 M-Pesa activation fee to unlock listing features this is to verify seriousness and filter bad actors. There are no ongoing subscription fees or commissions.
Depi supports all residential and commercial property types: houses, apartments, studios, bedsitters, land (plots), and commercial buildings. Properties can be listed for sale, rent, or Airbnb. Filter by category and purpose to narrow your search.
Go to Wallet → Withdraw. You need a minimum balance of 500 tokens (KES 500). The withdrawal is processed via M-Pesa STK push to your registered phone number, typically within minutes.
M-Pesa payments are processed by Safaricom and confirmed via callback to our system automatically. If your account is still showing as unverified 5 minutes after payment, contact support at hello@depi.co.ke with your M-Pesa confirmation message.
